Metro Vancouver Regional District has ended its air quality warning after improving conditions across the region.
The warning for fine particulate matter, which had been in effect since Aug. 12, was lifted after winds from the coast helped push wildfire smoke eastward and out of Metro Vancouver.
Officials said the advisory has also been cancelled for the Fraser Valley, including Eastern Chilliwack, Agassiz, and Hope.
Fine particulate matter is a key component of wildfire smoke and can pose health risks.
Air quality conditions are expected to continue improving as the remaining smoke disperses from the region. Residents can continue to monitor local air quality and weather forecasts for the latest updates.
