A three-year-old boy has died after being found unconscious in a backyard swimming pool in Blainville, north of Montreal.
According to Blainville police, emergency crews were called to a residence at around 3 p.m. Saturday after the child was discovered in the pool.

The boy was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say the child’s parents contacted authorities after finding him in the water while searching for him.
An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
