A kitchen fire in a three-storey apartment building forced several residents from their homes early Tuesday morning in Montreal’s Pointe-St-Charles borough.

Firefighters were called around 4:25 a.m. to the six-unit building near Turgeon street and the intersections of Sainte-Émilie street and Saint-Ambroise street.

Officials say the blaze was accidental and originated in a kitchen.
