The PQ leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon does not feel concerned by the recent report from OUI Québec indicating that there is an impression of regression on “living together” and that “we have replaced pride with closure”.
“I don’t want to add anything more. This is a report that, on its face, is not intended for the Parti Québécois. A large part of the report in fact deals with the state of civil society in Quebec,” St-Pierre Plamondon maintained at a press conference Tuesday at the National Assembly.
The United Organizations for Independence (OUI Québec) published a report over the weekend after consulting with 50 civil society organizations. Among its findings, the report indicates a “feeling that Quebec has regressed in terms of living together and that we have replaced pride with isolation.”
On Sunday, former PQ ministers Louise Harel and Louise Beaudoin told “La Presse” that they want the Parti Québécois (PQ) to be open to the conclusions of the report.
“I am confident that our way of seeing things, and our responsible way of approaching each subject, which has always been responsible, will rally Quebecers,” the PQ leader argued.
OUI Québec is a citizens’ organization whose mission is to engage civil society around the Quebec independence project.
