The Walter Cup champion Montreal Victoire will celebrate their first-ever PWHL title with fans during a free public event Saturday in downtown Montreal.
Players and coaches are scheduled to appear on stage at the Quartier des Spectacles beginning at 11 a.m., with festivities taking place along Sainte-Catherine Street between Bleury and Clark streets. The celebration is expected to continue until 1 p.m., and no tickets or reservations are required.
The championship event comes just days after the Victoire captured the Walter Cup by defeating the Ottawa Charge 3-1 in the best-of-five PWHL final series.
The team has continued celebrating throughout the week following Wednesday’s title-clinching victory. Captain Marie-Philip Poulin and several teammates made a surprise appearance at Verdun Auditorium on Thursday, arriving with the Walter Cup to greet cheering fans.
The celebrations will continue next week as members of the Victoire are scheduled to sign Montreal’s official guestbook at City Hall on Tuesday to commemorate the championship.
