‘Let’s go Victoire’: Montreal hockey fans cheer Walter Cup win

Aboard a double-decker bus, the players of the Montreal Victoire briefly paraded through the Quartier des Spectacles on Saturday morning to celebrate their Walter Cup victory with their fans.

The procession set off around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Sainte-Catherine and Bleury streets, led by head coach Kori Cheverie and general manager Danièle Sauvageau. Seated in a vintage car—a turquoise Mercury Park Lane—they held aloft the gleaming Walter Cup amid cheers from the crowd.

The Victoire players and staff paraded down Sainte-Catherine Street to the rhythm of “Olé olé” and “Let’s go Victoire,” chants sometimes led by the spectators, other times by the players.

Thousands of fans of all ages had gathered at the Parterre in Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles, where the players were able to thank their loyal fans.
