At about 12:20 a.m., Sunday morning, Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers responded to a call of a shooting in the area of 138 Street and 62 Avenue.
When they arrived, SPS found one male in a car that had hit a power pole, suffering from gun shot wounds.
They provided medical assistance until BC Emergency Heath Services (BCEHS) arrived.
Despite the efforts by both police and BCEHS, the man died on scene.
The investigation is still ongoing, with no arrests having been made.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has since taken over the investigation.
