Person airlifted to hospital after shooting in Langley

One person has been airlifted to hospital following a shooting in Langley Wednesday, the RCMP says.

Officers were called to the area of 196 Street and 29 Avenue shortly after 5 p.m., where they found the victim in medical distress.

“The individual was promptly transported to a local area hospital via air ambulance with serious injuries,” said Cst. Meghan Marsden, media relations officer for the Langley RCMP.

Mounties say it is too early to tell if the shooting is related to extortion or gangs.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and refer to file 2026-17218.
