A 34-year-old man was hospitalized following a stabbing in Montreal’s Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough early Friday morning.
Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call around 12:15 a.m. reporting an altercation on Bélanger Street near Châteaubriand Ave. Responding officers found the victim conscious and suffering from injuries to his upper body caused by a sharp object.
The man was transported to hospital, where authorities say his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Preliminary information suggests the stabbing occurred after a dispute involving the victim and two women escalated into violence.
One of the suspects, a 40-year-old woman, was arrested near the scene shortly after the incident. She is expected to meet with investigators as the inquiry continues.
Police are still searching for a second female suspect who remains outstanding.
The investigation into the stabbing remains ongoing.
