The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it is investigating shots being fired in south Newton on Tuesday.
Officers responded to the incident shortly before 10:45 a.m. near the intersection of 66 Avenue and 129 Street.
According to the SPS, “an occupant from one vehicle was observed shooting at an occupant associated with another vehicle.”
When officers arrived, they detected that at least two homes were damaged by bullets.
No injuries have been reported, and the suspects were able to flee the area before officers arrived.
Police say that the incident is not extortion-related and is believed to be targeted.
However, no other information can be released at this moment as the “motive for the shots fired is unknown.”
The SPS launched an investigation, and the Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS) is currently in the area, processing physical and digital evidence.
