Charges upgraded in West End vehicle-ramming that killed senior

Charges against the man who is accused in the West End vehicle-ramming incident last month have been upgraded to murder, Vancouver Police Department says.

The accused, 34-year-old Tadd Bali, is now facing one count each of second-degree murder and attempted murder, as well as two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

The upgraded charges stem from the death of 75-year-old Johnny Sudds, who was wheelchair-bound, was struck by Bali. Sudds later died in hospital on May 24.

Bali was initially charged with four counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
