Longueuil police seek public’s help identifying mail theft suspect

Longueuil police (SPAL) are seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual in connection with a mail theft that occurred in the Saint-Hubert borough on March 30.

At approximately 1:40 p.m., a man was seen on Raoul Avenue wearing a fluorescent yellow safety vest and carrying a bundle of flyers, giving the impression that he worked for a mail delivery service.

The individual was observed searching through a mailbox before leaving the property with several envelopes in his possession. The residents were able to recover the envelopes from him.

The investigation revealed that the stolen mail contained, among other items, personal identification numbers (PINs) linked to TD Bank credit cards. Police also determined that a fraudulent credit card application had been submitted in a complainant’s name without his knowledge.

Police are asking the public to help identify the suspect, who is believed to be over 25 years old, approximately 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He also has a mustache, a thin beard, and a tattoo on the side of his neck.
