Just hours before the NHL 2026 Entry Draft was set to start, the 2026-27 preseason schedule was unveiled.
With a new format for the upcoming season, the preseason schedule has been reduced to five games.
The Canadiens will take on the Maple Leafs in split-squad games on Saturday, Sept. 19, in both Montreal and Toronto.
Following this, the Habs will take on the Senators in Trois-Rivières on Sept. 21 as part of events celebrating the Kraft Hockeyville 2025 winning community of Saint-Boniface, QC.
Lastly, the Canadiens will finish their preseason with another split-squad games, this time against the Senators in Montreal and Ottawa.
Tickets for the preseason will go on sale on Wednesday, Aug. 5. For priority access to ticket presales and offers.
Following the preseason, the NHL will begin its 84 game regular season, marking the first time since 1995-96 that the season will not feature 82 games.
