Public transit users across the Greater Montreal area will see most fares increase by an average of three per cent beginning July 1.
The Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM) says monthly All Modes passes will increase by $5.50 for regular fares and $3.25 for discounted fares, while monthly Bus passes will rise by $4.75 for regular users and $3 for discounted riders.
The cost of one-trip and two-trip fares will remain unchanged.
The ARTM also says transitional fares for the South Shore REM will be eliminated on July 1. Riders using the REM and connecting bus services on the South Shore will be required to purchase an All Modes fare.
The agency says the annual fare adjustment is intended to help maintain affordable public transit services across the metropolitan region.
