Montreal police (SPVM) are seeking public’s help in identifying a suspect linked to sexual assault cases in public transit.
Police say the alleged incidents happened in four different occasions in spring 2025 and in spring 2026 across different metro stations (Peel, Honoré‑Beaugrand and Saint‑Michel) and on the 33 STM bus line.
“While the victims were using public transportation—such as buses or the metro—the suspect would sit or stand near them and discreetly touch their thighs or buttocks,” SPVM said in a press release Thursday.
In one case this year, he also allegedly followed a minor.
The suspect is being described as a man with dark skin, in his 30s, 5’9″ tall. He has black hair and a black beard.
He was also reportedly seen wearing a dark beanie, a red backpack, a beige or dark blue jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and ochre-colored shoes.
SPVM says it believes there could be additional victims.
The investigation is coordinated the serial crimes unit (GECS) at Sûreté du Québec.
Anyone with information about the suspect or victims is asked to call 911, the Sexual Aggression section of the SPVM at 514 280–8520 or by going to the nearest police station. Anonymous tips can also be sent to Info-Crime at 514 393-1134 or online.
Information leading to the arrest could receive an award of up to $5,000.
