RCMP searching for woman who went missing on a BC Ferries vessel

The Sunshine Coast RCMP says it is investigating after a 51-year-old woman went missing on a BC Ferries vessel Thursday.

Police say Joyelle Goldbard’s vehicle was found abandoned on the 2:35 p.m. ferry from Langdale once it docked in Horseshoe Bay.

Nobody claimed the vehicle — an orange Subaru XV four-door hatchback — and no one matching Goldbard’s description was located in the area.

However, her wallet, personal belongings, and cell phone were inside her car.

The RCMP says Goldbard was previously known as Kristi Brandt until 2021. The Roberts Creek resident is 5’4″ and 150 lbs with brown eyes and short brown hair. She wears glasses or contact lenses and has several tattoos, including a full sleeve on her left arm and a phoenix on the back of her neck.

Police say her family and friends are very worried about her well-being.

Anyone with information or who had any contact with Goldbard Thursday or Friday is asked to call the Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266.
