Man, 32, found with stabbing injuries in downtown Montreal

A 32-year-old man was found with injuries to his upper body during an alleged armed assault in the Ville-Marie Borough early Thursday morning.

Montreal police spokesperson Caroline Chevrefils said officers on patrol found the injured man near the intersection of Sainte-Catherine Street and Hôtel-de-Ville Avenue around 3 a.m.

He was conscious and he was injured in the upper body with a sharp object. He was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the assault are unknown.

“Despite extensive research, the police officers were unable to locate the scene of the armed assault,” Chevrefils said.

Police are looking for possible surveillance cameras. No arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
