An Air Canada flight from Los Angeles veered off a taxiway upon landing at Montreal-Trudeau airport, with no injuries reported during the incident on Thursday afternoon. CityNews received photos showing the plane on the grass around 4:30 p.m.
According to Aéroports de Montréal (ADM), Montreal’s airport authority, the emergency coordination center was activated following the mishap. Additionally, the closure of the north runway was necessary to ensure the safe evacuation of 156 passengers and six crew members, leading to operational delays.
Air Canada announced plans to deplane the passengers and crew, who will be transported to the terminal by bus. The Boeing 737 MAX aircraft involved will be towed to the hangar for a thorough inspection, as stated by an airline spokesperson.
