An accident involving multiple vehicles in Scarborough sent four individuals to the hospital on Friday morning, leading to the closure of a section of Hwy. 2A, as per Toronto police and paramedics.
The incident took place at the intersection of Hwy. 2A and Meadowvale Road at approximately 9:39 a.m., prompting emergency responders to attend to the scene due to reports of a collision between several vehicles.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered significant damage and promptly closed the eastbound lane of Hwy. 2A at Lawson Road. Drivers were advised of potential heavy traffic delays and encouraged to seek alternative routes.
According to Toronto paramedics, two adults, one teenager, and one child were taken to the hospital following the crash. While two of the injured individuals suffered minor harm, the other two sustained serious injuries that could be life-threatening.
As of now, paramedics have not disclosed the specific injuries sustained by each individual, and the total number of vehicles involved in the collision is still under investigation.
