Toronto police have announced that two individuals have been charged in connection with a distraction theft targeting a grandmother and her grandchild. The incident took place near Culford Road and Falstaff Avenue, with the suspects allegedly luring the child towards a van while engaging the grandmother in conversation.

During the distraction, the suspects managed to steal jewelry from the victims before fleeing the scene. Constantin Porumbita and Bianca Mitran, both 41-year-old Toronto residents, have been charged with robbery and involvement in a criminal organization.

Porumbita is set to appear in court on June 30, while Mitran’s court date is scheduled for July 13. Police have also released images of the suspects, suspecting that there may be additional victims related to the case.

It is important to note that the charges against the individuals are allegations and have not been proven in court.
