The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is set to showcase a diverse lineup of biopics and dramas this year, including films about Sylvester Stallone, Rupert Murdoch, and F1 driver Gilles Villeneuve.
One of the highlights at TIFF will be “I Play Rocky,” a biopic directed by Peter Farrelly and starring Anthony Ippolito as Sylvester Stallone, making its world premiere at the festival. Alongside this, Danny Boyle’s “Ink,” featuring Guy Pearce as Rupert Murdoch, will explore the media mogul’s influence on tabloid journalism.
Audiences can also look forward to “Villeneuve: Rise of a Legend,” a film celebrating the life of Canadian F1 driver Gilles Villeneuve, directed by Yan Lanouette Turgeon and serving as the closing night feature.
Additionally, TIFF will screen the award-winning drama “Fjord,” which delves into political polarization, and Jesse Eisenberg’s comedic musical “The Debut,” along with Ira Sachs’ poignant “The Man I Love.”
Notably, Lauren Miller Rogen’s “Babies,” starring Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick as a couple grappling with the decision to have children, will have its world premiere at the festival.
TIFF’s 51st edition will run from Sept. 10 to 20, promising a captivating cinematic experience for film enthusiasts worldwide.
