Outside La Patrona restaurant, supporters shared their excitement with CityNews, expressing their anticipation for this moment since Spain’s last World Cup triumph in 2010, 16 years ago.
“It’s unbelievable that we’ve come this far, but we did it!” exclaimed one fan.
“Viva España!” echoed another supporter enthusiastically.
In a nail-biting match, Spain substitute Ferran Torres secured a 1-0 victory over defending champions Argentina with a goal in the 106th minute.
