In the early hours of the morning, a 21-year-old woman was taken into custody for driving under the influence following a collision that resulted in a hydro pole being knocked down in Etobicoke.
Law enforcement responded to the scene at Islington Avenue and Aylesbury Road shortly after 1:30 a.m. after receiving reports of the incident.
Investigators believe the woman’s vehicle struck the hydro pole, causing it to topple and exposing live wires in close proximity to a TTC bus.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, but authorities apprehended the driver on-site for impaired driving.
By 4 a.m., the roads in the vicinity were cleared of debris and reopened to traffic.
No further information has been disclosed regarding the incident.
