A woman was injured following an armed assault that occurred Saturday afternoon in the Ville-Marie borough.
Authorities were notified around 4:45 p.m. and responded to De Bleury Street, near De la Concorde Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found a 26-year-old woman with injuries to her upper body.
The woman was quickly transported to a hospital, where her condition was initially considered life-threatening, reported Johany Charland, spokesperson for the Montreal police (SPVM), late Saturday afternoon.
She is now in stable condition.
“According to initial reports, the suspect allegedly injured the victim in the upper body with what may have been a sharp object, for a reason that remains unknown,” said Johany Charland.
The suspect reportedly fled before police arrived, Charland said.
A perimeter has been established to protect evidence, and investigators will visit the scene to better understand the circumstances of the attack.
Charland added that no arrests have been made at this time and that the investigation is ongoing.
