4‑alarm industrial fire erupts in Etobicoke near Hwy. 427, police warn of heavy smoke

Toronto Fire crews are battling a 4‑alarm industrial blaze in the city’s west end early Tuesday, a fire that sent heavy smoke across Hwy. 427 and forced multiple road closures.

The fire broke out around 3:58 a.m. in the Disco Road and Carlingview Drive area, near a cluster of commercial and industrial buildings just east of the airport.

Toronto Fire confirmed the escalation to a 4‑alarm shortly after 4 a.m.

Crews remain on scene conducting fire‑ground operations as thick smoke continues to billow from the structure. Toronto police say visibility on Hwy. 427 may be affected, urging drivers to use extreme caution.

Disco Road is closed between Carlingview Drive and Hwy. 427, while Attwell Drive is also fully closed.

Toronto Fire says Commander John Carson will provide an on‑scene update at 7:30 a.m.
