A woman in her 60s has died following an incident at a residential swimming pool in Saint-Anselme, in the Bellechasse region.
Emergency crews, including police, firefighters and paramedics, were called to a home on Denis-Allen Street shortly before 7 p.m. Monday after the woman was found unresponsive in the pool.

Despite resuscitation efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Quebec provincial police (SQ) say the exact circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation. While all possibilities are being examined, investigators say a medical emergency has not been ruled out. A coroner has been assigned to determine the cause and circumstances of the death.
The tragedy comes just over a month after an 18-year-old woman died in a similar swimming pool incident in a Lévis neighbourhood on June 22.
According to the Lifesaving Society, there have been 46 suspected unofficial drowning deaths in Canada as of July 27, compared with 43 during the same period last year. In 2025, the organization recorded 59 drownings, down from 84 in 2023 and 61 in 2022. Nearly 71 per cent of drowning deaths occur in natural bodies of water, including rivers, lakes and streams.
