13-Year-Old Arrested for Stabbing Teen Inside Oshawa McDonald’s

A 13-year-old boy in Oshawa is facing serious charges after an incident at a local McDonald’s where he allegedly tried to stab another youth during a heated argument.

According to Durham police, the confrontation took place at the McDonald’s on Thoroughbred Street on Tuesday evening. Reports of an individual with a weapon prompted law enforcement to respond to the scene.

The altercation, which started as a disagreement between two youths, quickly escalated when the 13-year-old reportedly pulled out a knife and attempted to attack a 16-year-old boy. Fortunately, the older teen managed to escape unharmed as the suspect fled the restaurant before the authorities arrived.

Following a swift investigation, officers located the 13-year-old at his home and apprehended him without any issues. A subsequent search of the residence led to the recovery of the alleged weapon used in the attempted assault.

The young offender is now facing charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and assault. He has been detained for a bail hearing, with his identity protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or captured it on video to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
