The United Steelworkers, representing approximately 250 workers at two of Interfor’s B.C. mills, expressed surprise at the news. Jeff Bromley, Wood Council Chair, acknowledged the disappointment but noted that the industry’s landscape has evolved, leading to a decline in the workforce over the years.
