“Breaking: Duo Captured in Connection with U.S. Consulate Shooting in Toronto”

Toronto authorities have apprehended two suspects, one of whom is just 15 years old, in connection with a recent shooting incident outside the United States Consulate. The event unfolded on July 27, prompting a swift response from law enforcement following reports of gunshots near the U.S. Consulate on University Avenue.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported despite evidence of a firearm being discharged outside the consulate. At the time of the shooting, two security personnel were present within the building, adding to the gravity of the situation.

Eyewitnesses observed a white Honda Accord, lacking license plates, speeding away from the scene immediately after the shot rang out. Police swiftly located the vehicle, initiating a pursuit that began on Gerrard Street and continued onto the Don Valley Parkway. However, due to the high-speed nature of the pursuit, reaching speeds exceeding 140 km/hr, authorities made the decision to terminate the chase around the DVP and Don Mills area for safety reasons.

Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw confirmed on Thursday that a 19-year-old and a 15-year-old have been arrested in connection with the July 27 shooting. Both suspects are facing a total of 22 criminal charges.

This recent incident follows a similar shooting on March 10, where two suspects fired multiple rounds at the consulate’s entrance before fleeing in a stolen Honda CR-V. The earlier case prompted a thorough national-security investigation involving various law enforcement agencies, including Toronto police, the RCMP, and INSET.

While one suspect was apprehended earlier, another remained at large until additional arrests were made in June. Subsequently, police charged a 19-year-old in connection with the March shooting after locating him at Toronto Pearson Airport. The investigation has since expanded to encompass multiple suspects and potential links to coordinated shootings across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
