The trial of Luciano Frattolin, a man accused of the tragic death of his nine-year-old daughter Melina during a New York trip last summer, is scheduled to resume today. Frattolin faces charges of second-degree murder and concealing a human corpse in the case involving the Montreal resident.
Frattolin, aged 46, maintains his innocence in the matter and has been in custody since his arrest in July 2025, awaiting trial. The proceedings commenced two weeks ago, with the prosecution nearing the conclusion of presenting their witnesses.
During the recent hearing, an investigator shed light on text messages exchanged between Frattolin and Melina’s mother when he reported their daughter missing. Additionally, a DNA analyst testified to discovering Frattolin’s DNA on shorts found in a nearby garbage bag, close to where Melina’s body was eventually located.
