Hamilton police have revealed the identity of a young man who passed away in the hospital following a stabbing incident that took place on a sidewalk in the early hours of Sunday.
According to officials, the incident unfolded on Main Street West close to Frid Street and Highway 403 at approximately 2:30 a.m. after a taxi driver discovered a man with stab wounds.
The injured individual was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has been named as Zenin Roussel, a 21-year-old resident of Hamilton.
In a statement, the Hamilton police mentioned, “The victim’s family has been informed and is requesting privacy during this difficult time.”
Investigations have revealed that Zenin and the suspects were present at King Street Billiards prior to the altercation. Following the closure of the establishment, a confrontation took place outside on King Street West.
Authorities noted that Zenin was found less than a kilometer away from the site of the altercation.
At this stage, no details regarding the suspects have been made public.
