Authorities have confirmed that the body of a 13-year-old girl who went missing while paddleboarding at Cultus Lake has been found. The RCMP’s Underwater Recovery team made the discovery on Monday afternoon, offering condolences to the family and friends of the young girl. Cpl. Carmen Kiener of the Chilliwack RCMP expressed deep sympathy for the tragic outcome.
The girl, who was reported missing after a suspected medical emergency while on the water, was last seen on Saturday afternoon without a life jacket. Now, the case has been handed over to the BC Coroners’ Service for further investigation and official procedures.
