A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a homicide in downtown Vancouver last year, police say.
On Nov. 17, 2025, the VPD responded to reports of a man suffering from a stab wound on Granville Street near Helmcken.

The victim, who did not have any identification on him at the time, later died in hospital, police said the next day.
They have now identified the victim as Aymen Al-Hafidh, who was 20 years old at the time of his death.
The VPD says 35-year-old James Christopher Holmgren was arrested Tuesday and has been charged with second-degree murder.
The death marked the city’s 25th homicide in 2025, according to police records at the time.
Holmgren remains in custody.
