A 36-year-old man has been charged following an alleged random assault on a woman in East Vancouver on Thursday.
According to Vancouver police, the woman was walking near Hastings Street and Clark Drive when she was confronted by a man who allegedly punched her in the face.
The victim suffered a cut beneath her eye as a result of the attack.
Police say a witness provided officers with a description of the suspect, allowing them to locate and arrest him a few blocks away from the scene.
The suspect has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
