Toronto Hydro crews are working in the area of Dundas Street West and Sherbourne Street after a large tree fell across the road, knocking down power lines.
Police and firefighters were called to the area just before 7 a.m. on Monday, and soon after, hydro was notified.
It’s not yet known how many people are without power and how long the repairs will take.
Dundas is closed between Seaton and Sherbourne streets.
As a result, the 506 Carlton streetcar is detouring via Spadina Avenue, King Street East, Queen Street West and Broadview Avenue.
