An 18-year-old driver, identified as Jacob Sanchez of Toronto, has been taken into custody following a tragic accident in midtown Toronto. The incident occurred late Friday afternoon when Sanchez, behind the wheel of a white Nissan Pathfinder, lost control of the vehicle on Bathurst Street. The vehicle veered onto the sidewalk, striking a 37-year-old woman who was walking nearby. The woman, critically injured, was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries the following day.
Sanchez now faces charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and is set to appear in court on October 30, 2026. The authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
