A woman, aged 47, was apprehended on Wednesday for allegedly stealing a 2026 Ford F-150 Raptor from a dealership in Sainte-Julienne and crashing the truck into a Hydro-Québec utility pole.
The theft occurred around 2:30 p.m. at Pinard Ford, where an alert staff member noticed the unusual driver and trailed the vehicle. The suspect, in a bid to evade capture, led a risky pursuit along Rang du Cordon.
Officers from Sûreté du Québec (SQ) swiftly intervened, but the chase was short-lived as the Raptor collided with a utility pole at the junction of Rang du Cordon and Rang Saint-Jacques, approximately seven kilometers from the dealership.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. Allegedly, she also collided with another vehicle and fled the scene, leaving the other driver unharmed.
Authorities are currently searching for a potential accomplice who purportedly departed the dealership in a dark blue Mazda CX-5 without license plates shortly after 2:30 p.m., heading towards Saint-Esprit.
The suspect may potentially face charges related to auto theft and fleeing the scene, with the investigation ongoing.
