Montreal Lights Up the Night: First Ever Canadian Lantern Release at Spectacular 88 Fest!

This weekend, Montreal is set to host Canada’s inaugural large-scale lantern flight at the exciting 88 Fest, The Lantern Release event. From Friday to Sunday, the magical spectacle will take place at the beautiful Jardin des Floralies in Parc Jean-Drapeau.

Organized by Asiasie in partnership with the Asian Night Market, this family-friendly festival will enchant visitors as thousands of lanterns light up the night sky every evening from 8 to 8:30 p.m. Attendees will have the special chance to personalize their lanterns with wishes or messages before witnessing them ascend into the starry skies.

In addition to the mesmerizing lantern release, the event will showcase six delightful Asian food vendors and a refreshing beverage vendor. The gates will open each day at 4 p.m., offering a perfect opportunity for families and friends to come together and enjoy a memorable evening. While admission is free, lanterns can be purchased separately for participation in the enchanting release.

The LED lanterns, filled with helium and attached to cords, will illuminate the event as they gracefully float above. Visitors can choose to keep their lanterns as souvenirs or return them for collection before leaving.

Don’t miss out on this captivating experience as the event continues until 10 p.m. every night, promising a magical and unforgettable weekend for all attendees.
