Toronto authorities have made significant progress in resolving the tragic murder case of Ding Ping Wang, a beloved husband and father who was fatally shot in a parking lot back in 2022. Recently, a second suspect has been apprehended in connection with Wang’s death, along with facing charges for a separate shooting incident.
Wang, a 31-year-old carpentry business owner, was gunned down while sitting in his vehicle at a plaza parking lot in the Midland Avenue and Passmore Avenue area on November 12, 2022. The senseless act shocked the community, leaving Wang’s loved ones devastated by the sudden loss.
Years later, on August 24, 2026, authorities took action by arresting Justin Longshaw, 39, on charges of first-degree murder related to Wang’s case, underscoring their commitment to seeking justice for the victim and his family.
In a recent development, investigators have announced the arrest of a second individual, Christopher Atkins-Price, 30, of Toronto, also charged with first-degree murder in connection to Wang’s tragic death. Atkins-Price faces additional charges linked to a separate shooting that took place in the same area months after Wang’s murder.
The subsequent shooting incident occurred on March 10, 2023, involving a 40-year-old man who was targeted by a suspect in the same plaza parking lot where Wang was killed. Despite sustaining serious injuries, the victim managed to escape and drive away from the scene.
Atkins-Price is now facing a charge of attempted murder in relation to the second shooting incident, raising questions about any potential connections between the two violent events in the same location.
