A former priest from Montreal has had his parole revoked after allegedly being caught viewing inappropriate content, including possible child pornography, while using public transportation. The 64-year-old Brian Boucher, who is serving time for sexually assaulting two boys and had been living in a Montreal correctional facility since his release, now faces new charges related to child pornography.
Authorities received a report last April about Boucher viewing illicit material on public transit, leading to his arrest in August on charges of possessing and viewing child pornography. Despite denying the accusations, Boucher’s parole was revoked due to concerns about his behavior, including violating a condition prohibiting contact with his victims.
The Commission also noted instances where Boucher was seen with relatives of one of his victims at a church, disregarding instructions from his care team. Additional restrictions were placed on him, including geographic limitations and strict monitoring of his activities, as he continues to deny his offenses and show little progress in rehabilitation efforts.
Despite his eligibility for statutory release, Boucher will face stricter conditions, including residing in a designated facility, limited access to technology, and restrictions on contact with minors or places where children gather. The Commission emphasized Boucher’s lack of remorse and empathy towards his victims, indicating a concerning lack of progress in addressing his behavior.
The case will undergo further review in November, with Boucher’s future release and conditions subject to legal proceedings.
