The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) has successfully cracked a break-and-enter case at a local business, leading to the recovery of approximately $20,000 worth of suspected stolen goods.
According to AbbyPD, the incident took place at a business situated on Forge Place near the Clearbrook Road interchange on August 27 at 4 a.m. The culprits had fled in a vehicle by the time the police arrived, leaving behind a theft of furniture and other items.
Following the identification of the suspect vehicle and individuals involved, a thorough investigation ensued, culminating in the issuance and execution of a search warrant at a residence on Marshall Road near Cherry Street on September 11. Not only was the stolen property recovered during the search, but the suspect vehicle was also seized.
AbbyPD stated, “Officers made a significant find during the search, seizing an estimated $20,000 worth of suspected stolen tools.”
The suspects, Mario Jovic, 44, and Richard White, 49, who are no strangers to law enforcement, have been arrested and charged with break-and-enter, currently in police custody.
Furthermore, AbbyPD encourages business owners and residents to take part in Project Clearview, a voluntary community camera registry program aimed at improving safety in neighborhoods. This initiative aids investigators in efficiently identifying potential video evidence and expedites police response during criminal inquiries.
