Formula 1 Reveals 2027 Calendar with Exciting Changes
Get ready for an adrenaline-packed season as Formula 1 has just unveiled its thrilling 2027 calendar. The Canadian Grand Prix is set to electrify Montreal from May 21 to 23, kicking off a series of 24 exciting Grands Prix in 22 countries around the globe.
Excitingly, the number of sprint events will be ramped up from six to 10, promising fans even more intense wheel-to-wheel racing action. Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, stating, “The 2027 calendar showcases some of the most iconic tracks and vibrant cities worldwide, setting the stage for another unforgettable Formula 1 season.”
In addition to traditional favorites like Montreal, Silverstone, Monza, São Paulo, and Lusail, sprint events will also be making a return, ensuring action-packed race weekends that fans won’t want to miss.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the FIA, emphasized the global appeal and growth of Formula 1, stating, “The 2027 FIA Formula One World Championship calendar mirrors the sport’s worldwide popularity. With races across five continents, the addition of Portugal and Türkiye, and an expanded Sprint program, the calendar combines tradition, innovation, and fan engagement while upholding the highest sporting standards.”
Noteworthy changes in the 2026 season schedule, such as moving the Montreal race to May 24, highlight Formula 1’s commitment to reducing environmental impact by streamlining travel logistics. This adjustment enables teams to compete consecutively in North America, eliminating the back-and-forth transatlantic journeys required in the past.
