Montreal police have referred a baby to Quebec’s youth protection agency following an incident near the Notre-Dame encampment. The SPVM received a call about the situation last Friday evening and alerted Youth Protection Services after noting concerning elements.
Residents in the area expressed shock and concern over the lack of monitoring on Notre-Dame Street. Dayanna Rocha, a nearby resident, voiced outrage, while Lorraine Beaucage commented on the escalating situation. Diane Bélair emphasized the need for urgent assistance for the mother in question, given the growing number of homeless individuals in the area.
While the exact location of the baby’s discovery remains undisclosed, Montreal police confirmed no arrests have been made, with investigations ongoing. The woman involved is believed to be the child’s mother.
