On Friday, all five Quebec party leaders will converge in Quebec City for the Union des municipalités du Québec (UMQ) election summit, marking a pivotal moment in the provincial campaign as it reaches its 23rd day.
The Quebec City Convention Centre will host the gathering at 11:30 a.m., uniting municipal representatives with the key figures of Quebec’s major political parties. It promises to be a day filled with discussions, insights, and interactions that could shape the course of the upcoming elections.
In separate engagements leading up to the summit:
– Quebec Conservative Party Leader Éric Duhaime will kick off his day in Berthier-sur-Mer, joining Mayor Gilles Lehouillier for a press conference before touring the Valero refinery in Saint-Romuald. His itinerary includes a press briefing in Sainte-Justine and a visit to a retirement home in Lac-Etchemin.
– Québec solidaire spokesperson Ruba Ghazal will start with a morning press briefing on environmental policies in Quebec City before making her way to the UMQ summit. She is slated to hold discussions with local government representatives in Berthierville before wrapping up the day with a campaign event in Montreal. Co-spokesperson Sol Zanetti is set to participate in a demonstration in Quebec City advocating for the transformation of the Dufferin-Montmorency highway.
– Quebec Liberal Party Leader Charles Milliard has planned a morning announcement in Quebec City followed by his attendance at the summit and an afternoon press scrum. The day will conclude with a visit and cocktail reception at the Verger de Tilly in Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly.
– CAQ Leader Christine Fréchette will join the UMQ summit proceedings before sitting down with Quebec City Mayor Bruno Marchand and conducting a press scrum at City Hall.
– Parti Québécois Leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon will also participate in the UMQ summit activities before holding a press conference later in the afternoon.
