A young man, 24, was left with severe upper body injuries after an attack with a sharp object, and was rushed to the hospital.
The incident took place at around 3 a.m. on Saturday on De la Montagne Street near Sainte-Catherine Street West in Montreal. According to Raphaël Bergeron, spokesperson for the Montreal police (SPVM), emergency services responded to the scene.
The suspects, believed to be men aged between 25 and 30, had fled before the police arrived.
Bergeron stated that the SPVM investigators will work to uncover the details of the event by interviewing witnesses and examining surveillance footage to identify the suspect or suspects.
As of 11 a.m. on Saturday, no arrests had been made, but the victim is reported to be in stable condition, confirmed by the police.
The investigation by the SPVM is ongoing.
