A 34-year-old woman, Nassim Eronn from Burlington, is facing a staggering 65 new charges after being arrested in connection with theft and fraud at an Orillia hospital back in May.
Ontario Provincial Police revealed that Eronn has been charged with 36 counts of fraud and 14 counts of theft, along with numerous other offenses. Following the initial arrest, police uncovered more victims and carried out multiple search warrants.
The alleged incidents span various hospitals across Ontario, including Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, Trillium Health Partners’ Mississauga hospital, and West Park Health Care Centre in Toronto.
During the investigation, law enforcement officials seized piles of clothes and furniture, highlighting the scale of the alleged criminal activities.
Initially, Eronn faced charges for disobeying a court order and making a false statement. The OPP suspect that there could be more victims linked to these crimes and urge patients, visitors, and staff at the affected hospitals to review their bank statements for any suspicious transactions.
