Following the conclusion of the World Cycling Championships in Montreal, the city’s streets are gradually reopening as crews work to clear away the temporary infrastructure used for the event. All intersections along the race route are now accessible to traffic, including key points like Mount Royal Avenue and Park Avenue, as well as Pine Avenue and Park Avenue.
Crews commenced the removal process on Sunday afternoon, taking down signage, fencing, and various event equipment. This dismantling effort is anticipated to last for the next two to three days. While Mount Royal Avenue and Pine Avenue are currently open to the public, there may be intermittent closures as crews take down two pedestrian footbridges in the area.
Further deconstruction work is scheduled for Tuesday, with potential short-term closures to finalize the removal of any remaining event infrastructure. Both motorists and pedestrians in the vicinity are urged to prepare for temporary disruptions during this clean-up phase.
