Around 14% of eligible voters in Quebec have already participated in the ongoing provincial election, based on data from Élections Québec. This early voter turnout of 13.79% translates to approximately 900,000 individuals who have cast their ballots ahead of the official voting day.
The early voting process, which occurred at the offices of returning officers on Friday and Saturday, also allowed students to vote on campus at designated colleges and universities on Friday. Advance voting at specific polling stations began on Sunday, providing more opportunities for citizens to exercise their voting rights.
Noteworthy is that three constituencies in the Quebec City region reported voter turnouts exceeding 20%: Louis-Hébert (23.6%), Vanier-Les Rivières (21%), and Lévis (20.6%). On the Island of Montreal, Rosemont recorded a voter turnout of 16.3%, the highest among the Montreal ridings where early voting took place.
However, Montreal ridings like Acadie (7.9%), Saint-Laurent (7.9%), D’arcy-McGee (8%), and Marguerite-Bourgeoys (8.4%) were among the bottom five in terms of voter participation during the early voting phase.
