Parti Québécois Chief Sets Sights on Sweeping Majority as Election Countdown Begins

The leader of Parti Québécois, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, is urging voters to grant him a majority government as his party maintains a lead in the polls days ahead of the provincial election. Plamondon emphasized the necessity of a majority to effectively carry out his agenda during interviews on morning radio shows in both English and French.

In discussions with English-language radio CJAD, Plamondon highlighted the considerations of a minority or majority government for PQ. He expressed concerns that a minority government would limit his party’s ability to address issues effectively. Plamondon emphasized the importance of a strong and stable government to undo the alleged damage from the previous Coalition Avenir Québec leadership.

Meanwhile, on the campaign trail, Liberal Leader Charles Milliard is focusing on gaining support in the Eastern Townships region where he is a candidate, while Québec solidaire’s Ruba Ghazal is in Montreal advocating for a plan to prohibit evictions during the winter.

Quebec’s election day is set for October 5.
