Peel Regional Police will be giving an update on Thursday morning regarding the recent hit-and-run tragedy in Mississauga that resulted in the death of a man in his 60s earlier this week.
The fatal collision occurred on Tuesday evening at the intersection of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Dundas Street West shortly after 6 p.m.
According to Constable Tyler Bell of Peel Regional Police, the incident involved a two-tone Chevrolet Silverado 1500 series pickup truck manufactured between 1999 and 2005. The truck was traveling southbound on Winston Churchill and was making a right-hand turn onto Dundas when it struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
Tragically, the pedestrian, who has not yet been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Constable Bell mentioned on Wednesday that they have obtained significant dashcam footage from the vicinity, as well as CCTV footage capturing the incident.
The police update is scheduled for 11 a.m. tomorrow.
